First You Shave Your Head
, Geri LARKIN. This is Geri's accounting of a pilgrimage she made in Korea with her teacher, Samu Sunim. I like anything Geri writes, it's so down to earth. She pulls no punches in this book. Her pilgrimage was hard, it was agonizing, it brought tears on most days, it tested everything she thought she understood, it was a window into her heart and being.

The Center out There: Pilgrim's Goal
, Victor TURNER. This appears to be his first attempt to write about and introduce people to his themes of communitas and liminality. Somewhere else he said he started thinking about the ideas in the mid-1960's but here he say he says he is introducing a "work in progress" as he is still developing the ideas. In fact, the term liminoid doesn't even appear at this early stage.
