• David Moreton
  David lives in Tokushima City on Shikoku and studies the Shikoku Pilgrimage as a hobby. His Masters Thesis was on the the history of charitable giving along the Shikoku pilgrimage route (See the books and papers page to read it), and several times a year he gives talks on the pilgrimage at conferences and seminars around Japan. He is also the author of numerous newspaper and magazine articles about the pilgrimage.

  Tommi Mendel spent 9 months on the henro trail interviewing walking henro and has produced an ethnographic documentary film about the pilgrimage. Titled ARUKIHENRO - Walking Pilgrims in Shikoku, Japan. Devout hikers or adventurers on a quest for themselves?, the film highlights the reasons and motivations of today's walking pilgrims, as well as their quest for personal change along the 88 Temples' Pilgrimage.
