Like with any other endeavor, planning is the first step. Some henro plan almost every step before even leaving home. Others make no plans, take no maps, learn none of the language, or anything else. Most take the middle path and do something in between those two extremes. If you are inclined to planning, here is what i think you need to think about as you plan your pilgrimage.
